Our fees
It is impossible to give a precise estimate of the cost a family law case as each one is different. Every piece of work we do on behalf of our clients is independently assessed by an external law accountant which we believe ensures the fairest fee.
The number of hours spent on your case will be determined by complexity and the unique circumstances of your case. We will discuss the approximate cost with you at our initial meeting. If additional costs arise due to unforeseen circumstances, we will discuss this with you at the earliest opportunity and we will advise you of any increase in cost.
Initial meeting
At our first meeting, we will consider and discuss your circumstances. For this first meeting, we charge a fixed fee of £320.00 + VAT. (Total £384).
The fee for this first meeting includes:
- Meeting with you, taking instructions and providing initial advice
- Collecting information from you about your position, your finances and your family circumstances
This meeting will provide you with an overview of your legal position and the options open to you. Following this meeting, we will proceed charging at an hourly rate.
Hourly rate based on fee earner
Depending on the nature and complexity of your legal matter, the legal work undertaken by us may be completed by one or several members of our team. Below we have set out the hourly charging rates for each of our fee earners.
The hourly charge stated is exclusive of VAT which is charged at 20%.
Fee earner | Hourly rate ex. VAT | VAT | Hourly rate inc. VAT |
Partner | £310.00 | £62.00 | £372.00 |
Consultant | £295.00 | £59.00 | £354.00 |
Senior Associate | £295.00 | £59.00 | £354.00 |
Senior Solicitor | £245.00 | £49.00 | £294.00 |
The travel rate for all fee earners is subject to duration and complexity of travel and so the fee chargeable will vary accordingly.
The hourly rate does not include any additional outlays which are variable depending on the nature of the case.
